Posted December 13, 2015. not possible he needs a steam account with euro truck simulator 2 on it if he has the dvd version he can redeem the code he used on steam to convert the game to steam without re buying it on steam.
You can use in game Convoy option, but make sure that neither of you have any mods. At the moment it doesn’t work with mods. Alright thanks! TruckersMP is mod for massive multiplayer, and ingame convoys are for small scale multiplayer. Its pretty straight forward.

no, you NEED to have steam to play the multiplayer but never fear all you need to do is take the key that you got in the box and activate it on steam and boom your done now you can use it. Also while your at it sign up for World Of Trucks to get some free DLC :)
