Both models feature a tubular steel lattice frame, the 2023 690 Enduro R has a long-travel WP XPLOR suspension, a 910mm seat height, and 21-inch front and 18-inch wheels at the rear, which will master more challenging terrain on this lightweight, high-performance king of versatility. The 690 SMC R has a relatively low seat height (892 mm), 17 (Given a better seat; just as necessary on the 690.) Regarding lowering the bikes: Simply adding a 1" lower Kouba link lowers the 690 to 34.83" (tolerable, but still borderline). Doing that still leaves the ground clearance just barely exceeding the rear shock travel. Lowering the 500 to the same seat height would require a 3.37" drop.
